You’re invited to our 350PDX August Action Night on Monday, Aug 28! Action Nights are monthly in-person gatherings where everyone from the 350PDX is invited to join – whether you’re brand new or have been taking action with us for years.
This month, we’re excited to be partnering with Climate Curious to host our Action Night as a superhero-themed Pedalpalooza bike ride! The ride will start at Irving Park at 6pm and end with a community gathering at Mocks Crest Park. Learn more and RSVP here.
When: Monday, August 28th
6:00PM – 6:15PM — Meet at Irving Park for music, face painting, icebreakers, and maybe pick up a cape!
6:15PM – 7:00PM — ~40 minute bike ride, ending at Mocks Crest Park
7:00PM – 8:00 PM — Food and drinks provided at Mocks Crest Park, as well as some climate action stations, network with our teams, and learn how you can get involved!
Where: Irving Park to Mocks Crest Park
What to Expect:
The theme is climate superheroes, so bring your tights, capes, and bikes and we’ll see you there! Feel free to just come for the park at the end if you don’t want to ride.
This will be an outdoor, masks optional event. Bring a friend, bring a partner! Kids welcome. Please let us know if you have accessibility needs on our sign-up form. Email me at kiera@350pdx.org with any questions.
Finally — We’ll have TWO art/craft build opportunities where you can work on your costumes for the ride!
Tuesday, Aug 22, 6-8 pm at the 350PDX Office (3639 N Mississippi Ave) — Join us for climate justice screen printing on capes! (We’ll have fabric and all other materials available, just bring yourself)
Tuesday, Aug 22, 12-4 pm at the Making Earth Cool space in Lloyd Center (2nd Floor West Wing) — We’ll have a costume craft build for the superhero Pedalpalooza ride! Making Earth Cool has craft supplies and work tables, BYO beverage and snacks!
Hope to see you there!
