Hey everyone,

Join us tomorrow, Friday (May 20), for the biggest youth-led Climate Strike in over two years! We’ll call on elected officials at City Hall to sign a climate action pledge and #ConfrontClimateVillains, then march to Revolution Hall for a huge Climate Festival. Want to join a 350PDX group at the strike? We’ll be giving out 350PDX bandanas so you can show you’re part of the crew. Find us at 11am outside City Hall, at the SE corner of SW Madison and SW 4th Ave.

In the fight for climate justice in Oregon, we’re up against some powerful interests. The fossil fuel industry wants to confuse and divide us – as we’ve seen in NW Natural’s misinformation campaign to greenwash “natural” gas. In service of their corporate shareholders, the Portland Business Alliance (PBA) is actively undermining the Portland Clean Energy Fund. Zenith Energy is still exporting oil by rail from their Portland terminal, and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) continues their climate-disastrous freeway widening projects. NW Natural, PBA, Zenith, and ODOT have become Climate Villains causing deep harm in our communities.

We’re gathering in huge numbers tomorrow to fight these Climate Villains and take our power back. In these moments, we build the power we will need to create the just, resilient world we all deserve.

See more info below on how to join the strike and how to volunteer to help make it a success:

Help Sustain the Climate Justice Movement!

350PDX has been working for years to grow a grassroots, people-powered movement to tackle the root causes of the climate crisis. We’re in it for the long haul, but we need your help. Stay tuned for our Spring Sustaining Donor Drive next week! With your support, we can keep building the ‘people power’ we need, through mass actions like tomorrow’s youth-led Climate Strike and so much more.

In solidarity,

The 350PDX Staff (Anissa, Brenna, Chris, Dineen, Emily, Indi, and Julia)
