350PDX is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. This information will not be sold, rented or exchanged with others unless specifically disclosed in this statement. 350PDX collects information from site visitors at several different points on this website.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We aggregate information on what pages visitors access, and information volunteered by the visitor (such as survey information, e-mail and other addresses and other personal information voluntarily provided by visitors).

The information we collect is used to improve the content of our website, to notify visitors about updates to our website, and alert visitors about issues and opportunities related to our work. The information collected is not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes. All personal information is stored on a secure server with password protection.

Visitors under the age of 13 (US) or 16 (EU & elsewhere), must ask their parent/guardian for consent before submitting the youth’s personal information to this site. If we have reason to believe that someone is under-age and we have collected their personal information without proper consent, we will delete that information within a reasonable period of time.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Analytics

350PDX uses Google Analytics Dashboard for WordPress to handle submitting data to Google Analytics. We anonymize IP addresses and support browser-level Do Not Track headers for users who have those enabled.

Financial Transactions

To process a charitable contribution or product purchase, it is necessary for 350PDX to gather the donor’s name, email address, mailing address, phone, and credit card information. This data is used to verify identity and execute the financial transaction. Additionally, phone number and email address information may be used to contact visitors if there is a problem with the transaction.

350PDX may use service providers (such as merchant banks and ecommerce integrators) for the express purpose of conducting financial transactions. It is important to note that credit card numbers are used only at the time of the transaction, and are not stored following the conclusion of the transaction unless a transaction is selected that occurs on a regular basis. For transactions that recur, credit card information is stored in an encrypted format.

350PDX payment processing service providers include PayPal, Democracy Engine, and Nationbuilder.

Donations to 350PDX are refundable within 30 days upon written request. If you would like to have your donation refunded, please contact 350PDX’s Development Department by writing to info@350pdx.org.

Electronic Newsletter

If a site visitor chooses to subscribe to our electronic newsletter through the sign-up form on our site or while making a donation, 350PDX requests contact information such as name and email address. This information is stored securely with a third-party service provider (our agent) for the sole use of 350PDX.

We do not share this information with any third-party but we sometimes send messages to our supporters asking them to take action with other partner organizations. Supporters are encouraged to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information from them.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Supporters and donors can write to info@350pdx.org to obtain details about what information we store about them, to opt out of our list or any sharing services 350PDX might subscribe to, or to request changes to their personal data as collected by 350PDX.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Supporters and donors have the “Right to be Forgotten” and can write to info@350pdx.org to request that all their personal data as collected by 350PDX be removed from all our records.

Where we send your data

350PDX uses third-party service providers for communication and contact management. Therefore, your personal information may also be shared with these third-party service providers which include Google, Nationbuilder, and Zapier. Additionally, 350PDX uses third-party services and tools contracted by partner organizations for telephone campaigning and your personal information may be temporarily uploaded to these systems for use by 350PDX and our volunteers and employees.

Data breaches

350PDX and our agents will notify authorities within 72 hours in case of any data breaches.

Changes to this policy

350PDX reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without any obligation, to modify or correct any errors or omissions in any portion of this website. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to our website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses.
