Water is Life: Youth Speak Out on Proposed Fracked Gas Export

November 16, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

- free

Join us on Thursday, November 16 to hear a unique perspective on the pipeline and its implications for water and climate. Panelists will include youth from the Yurok, Hoopa, Karuk, and Klamath Tribes, traveling all the way from Northern California to share their perspective and a video recently produced by the Klamath tribes in southeast Oregon in opposition to the massive proposals to pipe, liquefy, and export fracked gas through the Northwest. We hope to see you there! The proposed Pacific Connector fracked gas pipeline and the Jordan Cove LNG export terminal threaten to dramatically impact salmon fisheries, water quality, and our climate.

WHO: Youth from Yurok, Hoopa, and Karuk Tribes and the Portland Area Discuss Threats from the Proposed Pacific Connector Pipeline and the Jordan Cove Fracked Gas Export Terminal.

Co-Sponsors: Stop Fracked Gas PDX, 350PDX, Columbia Riverkeeper, Greenpeace USA, HELP PDX!, HOPE, Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility, Friends of the Columbia Gorge

WHEN: Thursday, November 16, 2017, doors at 6:30 pm, youth panel at 7:00 pm.

WHERE: Havurah Shalom, 825 NW 18th Avenue, Portland, OR.
