On Sunday, July 25 from 4-7 pm at the Hillsdale UCC (6948 SW Capitol Hwy), the Filipino-American community in Portland will be holding the WakasanFest: The People’s Carnival to celebrate the Filipino people’s resistance and to build the fight towards the end of Duterte’s regime.

Every year, the president of the Philippines delivers a State of the Nation Address that does not acknowledge the concrete conditions of the Filipino people and the failings of the Philippine government to address the Filipino people’s needs.

As a response, Filipinos and allies launch a People’s State of the Nation Address to protest the worsening conditions in the Philippines.
