Tour PCEF Recipient Sites

August 2, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

This Friday, August 2, we have an exciting opportunity to tour PCEF recipient sites.

Join Portland City Council candidates, Portland Clean Energy Fund staff, 350PDX, and partner orgs including Verde and Bird Alliance of Oregon to visit and learn about four sites that have received PCEF grants!

RSVP is required by Thursday, August 1, so we can make sure to have enough transportation.

When: August 2, 9:50am–2pm

Where: Meet at Oliver Middle School; a bus will transport us to 3 other sites and back to the school

Who: 2 dozen Portland City Council candidates have registered, several PCEF staff members will attend, and community members are now welcome to register

What to bring: water bottle, sack lunch, closed toe shoes

The Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) has been instrumental in supporting community-led climate action and resiliency projects in Portland. As PCEF now has $1.3 billion in current and pending projects taking place through 2028, it is essential to understand PCEF and ensure that the funds support PCEF’s goal of environmental and climate justice.

Verde, 350 PDX, and the Bird Alliance of Oregon are inviting all Portland City Council candidates and members of the community to a PCEF project tour on Friday, August 2nd, from 9:50am–2pm. The tour will visit projects from the organizations Depave, the Centennial School District, Street Roots, the Goodling Community Solar Annex, and Zenger Farm. PCEF staff will speak at the tour, which aims to educate candidates and community members about the crucial role of PCEF in supporting climate action. This tour will foster connections among PCEF staff, PCEF-funded projects, candidates, and community members, and will further city policy that takes meaningful steps towards environmental justice and climate resilience. Here is a description of the project sites.

The tour will meet at Oliver Middle School at 9:50am. Thanks to the Bird Alliance of Oregon, a bus will take all participants to the project sites, where the host organization will present and lead a tour of the project. The tour will return to Oliver Middle School by 2pm. Here is a detailed schedule of the tour.

We will provide beverages and snacks, and ask tour participants to bring their own lunch. Bathrooms will be available at select project sites. As the Goodling Annex is currently under construction, please wear closed toe shoes.

If you have any needs to accommodate for the tour, please let us know.

If you plan to attend  the tour, RSVP here by August 1 to reserve your spot on the bus. I look forward to seeing you there!

Cherice Bock, 350PDX Climate Policy Manager
