Please show up Tuesday, May 14, to protect the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF).
PCEF is under threat as some members of city council want to overturn the will of Portland voters and divert money to projects unrelated to climate change.
In 2018, 65% of Portland voters favored establishing PCEF — a funding source and oversight structure that ensures our efforts to manage climate change risks are done in ways that support social, economic, and environmental benefits for all Portlanders, particularly communities of color and low-income residents.
On Tuesday, May 14, Portland City Council will hold a work session about PCEF and the City budget. Please show up, as this work session will be our big chance to loudly and clearly tell Portland City Council that PCEF is about climate justice.
By joining together, we can protect PCEF and make our city a leader in climate action that invests in the communities most impacted by climate change. Learn more about PCEF here. Please note—the work session will be held in the 1900 Building, not City Hall. Learn details about attending here.
