This year marks the 25th annual United Nations conference on climate change. Previous iterations of this conference have produced some of the most well-known and comprehensive international agreements for setting greenhouse gas emissions targets and increasing the ability of countries to adapt to the adverse effects of climate change, including the Kyoto Protocol, Marrakesh Accords, and the Paris Agreement, in which 196 countries agreed to establish emissions targets that would limit global warming to 2° C (3.6° F) above pre-industrial levels.
COP25 is scheduled for 2 December, 2019 – 13, December, 2019 in Madrid, Spain. The schedule for the conference should be available in early to late November. At that time the schedule will be available from the UNFCCC web site for COP25.
