Greenpeace, Oregon Peace Institute, 350PDX and Portland Peace Team offer a FREE 1-day training on the best practices of nonviolent direct action. Included content: the history and philosophy of nonviolence, centering exercises to help de-escalate a situation, an introduction to how Greenpeace employs nonviolent direct action, and a focus on developing peacekeeping skills.
This training is part of the People’s Climate Movement (PCM)— happening on the 100th day of the Trump Administration—where people will be in the streets of Portland, D.C, and around the country to show the world and our leaders that we will resist attacks on our people, our communities and our planet.
A light lunch, refreshments, and snacks are provided.

- Deepen de-escalation skills that can be applied in multiple situations
- Deepen understanding of nonviolence/ violence
- Develop a myriad of de-escalation skills necessary for peacemaking while deepening understanding how it is used in critical movement moments
