Our larger-than-life climate puppets are going to…
The Portland Mardi Gras Parade!
We are so excited to bring our puppets–many of which were recently built in a workshop with master puppeteer Donovan Zimmerman –out into the street.
This free community event will process right down our street on Mississippi Ave, March 4, at 7:00pm! The route begins near N. Humboldt and Albina, and proceeds down Mississippi Avenue to Cook Street, just past Fremont. 350PDX puppeteers and other community members will be marching in the parade, and you’re welcome to hop in anywhere on the route. If staying put is more your thing, beginning at 6:30 350PDX staff and volunteers will be holding it down at the office. We’ll have drinks and snacks, maybe a couple games, and will be blasting jazz, blues, and big brass tunes. A grand finale party will take place at Von Ebert brewing.
There will be a kid’s costume pageant at 6 PM at Luke’s Frame Shop, marching bands and entertainers, and after parties at Mississippi bars and restaurants. For more information and details about the parade, including accessibility, parking, and more entertainment, check out the Portland Mardi Gras website.
Get dressed up in your festive purples, greens, and golds, and join us!
