We invite you to join the Civil Liberties Defense Center for a 4 hour intensive training structured to build our collective knowledge and skills to increase the security of individuals and political organizing groups. The afternoon will include a Know Your Rights and will cover security culture, legal observing/copwatching, digital security for activists, and the various ways we are facing state repression (Grand Juries, SLAPP Suits, RICO) and how to effectively combat it.
This training is designed to offer an introduction to security for people who are completely new to organizing, as well as provide development and reminders for those who have been organizing for awhile.

About the trainers: The Civil Liberty Defense Center’s mission is to strengthen, inform, and increase the efficiency of the progressive social change movement by educating people about their rights, defending activists from corporate and governmental attacks, and exposing and confronting the persistent erosion of civil liberties and the Bill of Rights. The CLDC believes that grassroots activism is one of our country’s greatest traditions, one which has been the driving force behind every meaningful advancement of civil rights and environmental protection. The CLDC’s projects educate people about their rights and why their rights are important, defend front line activists, and expose and confront the persistent erosion of our civil liberties and the Bill of Rights.
