Join us on Sunday, December 7th from 10:30 – 1:30 for an adventure out to the “Middle Big Noise” timber units in the Clatsop State Forest.
We will walk around 2 miles at a gentle pace through this legacy forest full of western hemlock and Douglas fir. Our team will share about the importance of trees in the coast range for carbon fixing, how Oregon state forestry management works and way to get involved. You can also expect lots of excitement for the plants, animals, insects and fungi that live in this forest.
Meet at 10:30 in the trailhead parking area right before the bridge to Gnat Creek Campground, from there we will caravan into the unit. This is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Portland, and parking is limited, so please carpool https://www.groupcarpool.com/t/fvx57e if you are able. Please bring snacks or packed lunch.
