URGENT ACTION NEEDED: Commissioners Dan Ryan and Rene Gonzalez are proposing sweeping changes to Measure 26-228, the voter-approved ballot measure that changes our city government. Our voices were clear when voters passed the measure in November by nearly 60%: we want a city government that works well and represents all of our communities. The changes proposed by Ryan and Gonzalez undermine the will of the voters for a more representative city government.
Your voice is crucial in urging our city councilors to implement our new form of government, as voters approved it. We deserve to see Measure 26-228 actualized and not threatened by our elected officials.
On Tuesday, July 18th at 9:30 am at City Hall council will have a work session on this topic. It remains to be seen whether this will be an executive session (not online) or not. Public comment will not be accepted but we would like to show presence in the room for the work session. Can you join us there and bring some people? Aim to arrive by 9:00am for a brief gathering outside City Hall. Wear blue to show your support!
