[CANCELLED] Candidates Forum – Portland Metro People’s Coalition – Unite Oregon

March 18, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

***CANCELLED – they hope to reschedule again in the near future***

Unite Oregon and the twenty organizations of the Portland-Metro People’s Coalition are hosting a Candidates Forum! Find out where the candidates for Portland City Council Commissioner Position 2 stand on immigrant and refugee rights and the PMPC platform http://bit.ly/PMPC2020.

Sponsored by KBOO and Common Ground. ASL services provided. Please let us know if you need Spanish-language translation or childcare!

In November 2020 the mayor and three city commissioner positions are up for election. We have the opportunity to make Portland into a city that is a healthy and nurturing place for everyone OR we can essentially maintain the status quo: a city designed mainly for the 1%. Which one will it be? That is the question for this Candidates Forum.

Unite Oregon is defending the rights of immigrants and refugees.
The PMPC’s 2020 Platform protects renters, supports our houseless neighbors, demands police accountability, criminal justice reform, environmental justice and ending money in politics, taxes the rich for quality public services and expands what public services do.

These are big ideas, and they will only be achieved by building power from below. We are committed to working together to build that strong, coordinated, unified and strategic grassroots power. But we also need government leaders who will support and stay accountable to our grassroots movements.

JOIN US for this discussion and PLEASE HELP US SPREAD THE WORD!

The PMPC is 350PDX, AFSCME Local 88, Alliance for Democracy, Portland, BerniePDX.us, Climate Action Coalition, Climate Jobs PDX, independents for Progressive Action – IPA, Portland Jobs with Justice, Municipal Broadband PDX, Oregon Fair Trade Campaign, Portland Democratic Socialists of America, Portland Forward, Portland Harbor Community Coalition, Portland’s Resistance, Portland Teachers for Social Justice, Portland Tenants United, Right 2 Survive, Sisters Of The Road, Stop Fracked Gas PDX, SURJ Pdx Group KBOO Community Radio
