What does the Just Energy Transition Team do?

We start from a shared understanding that the systems that exploit natural resources and fuel climate change also depend upon unequal exploitation of people and communities, and that ending the extractive, fossil-fuel dependent economy requires seeking racial and economic justice for those most impacted already by climate change.

We organize as volunteers for the Portland Just Energy Transition Initiative, which would fund city-wide projects centering front-line community needs and providing job training for the new regenerative economy.

We learn about and support actions being taken by community partners for a Just Transition, especially in Portland and in Oregon.
