Candidate statement:
It is easy to say or write on these subjects, but one should look at the lifestyle to see the commitment. My lifestyle shows I have the lowest carbon footprint. I ride a bike because it gives so many benefits while keeping the air clean for everybody. I will promote programs to get people on bikes while making biking safer. Two of my housing proposals, garage rental and office to housing prohibit car ownership. The office to housing conversions eliminate the carbon load of new construction while revitalizing downtown into a walking community. With my proposal of odd even driving days air pollution should drop 50%. Commercial permits cost would split the transit savings with the permit holders. Revenue would go to mass transit and e- bike support programs. Dirty air is the cause of many human ailments. Air is the single most important human element. Water is the second most important ingestion. I have a plan to require commercial dispensers of drinking water to have filters assuring purity. By having clean (er) air and drinking water ALL Portlanders will be healthier
Will you ensure the Portland Clean Energy Fund (PCEF) remains climate-focused in line with what voters intended?
Yes
