Hi everyone,

The 350PDX office will be closed from June 26 to July 7 while the staff practice a period of rest. While the office is closed, we’re also holding space for members of the 350PDX community to take rest from work within the organization.

We believe rest is a vital part of our work for climate and social justice, giving us time to heal, process, imagine, and invent. We name rest as one of our core values to push back against the capitalist assumption that productivity defines our self-worth, and to hold space for community care. Within the climate justice movement, prioritizing rest also helps us be ready for “moments of the whirlwind,” when we put our full collective energy behind a common vision. At the same time, we know that not everyone has access to rest, especially those on the frontlines of oppressive harm. We may be encouraging folks to take a break from work at 350PDX, but we recognize that for many, work continues elsewhere. We also acknowledge that the work for justice is continual, and that no matter what, we must keep fighting for the just, resilient future we all deserve.

We thank you for all that you do for climate justice, and for being part of this community!

In deep gratitude,
350PDX Staff (Anissa, Brenna, Chris, Dineen, Eloise, Kiera, & Julia)

Tell your Legislators to Support Climate Justice in the 2023 Legislative Session

Right now, we have an opportunity to win important changes across all of Oregon in the 2023 Legislative Session. While the Republican legislators’ walkout caused huge delays to getting bills passed, there are a still a few days left in the session (it ends on June 25!). Right now, we’re working to pass the Climate Action package (HB 3409), which would invest nearly $100 million in climate action by passing a suite of bills. Join us in calling on your legislators to vote yes on the Climate Action package!

Tell your Legislators to say NO to the Domestic Terrorism Bill

We’re about halfway through the Oregon State Legislative session, and many of the bills could be huge wins for climate and social justice. But one bill — HB 2772, otherwise known as the “Domestic Terrorism Bill” — could set the stage for deep injustices against activists and over-policed communities, Black, Indigenous, and other Oregonians of color. We are deeply concerned that the Domestic Terrorism Bill is rapidly moving through the legislative process with bi-partisan support.

We can’t let Oregon pass a bill that would leave the door wide open for the state to wrongfully charge social and environmental justice activists with “domestic terrorism.” Will you join us in calling on our legislators to oppose the Domestic Terrorism Bill (HB 2772)?
